Clearwater tunnel construction began moving under Dodson Avenue in January 2025. Construction is passing deep under your street, (at the depth well below 300 feet) using state-of-the art tunnel boring machine (TBM) that builds this tunnel as it digs. The tunnel path does not travel under homes and primarily follows the public right of way (i.e., the street). Tunnel construction started on the northern end of Dodson Avenue and continues south until meeting Western Avenue (past 16th Street) as shown on this map.

Residents are not expected to notice anything different on the surface as the TBM digs past your area. There are many monitoring safeguards in place and all tunnel construction is closely watched using an extensive electronic sensor system with over 1,000 locations installed along the tunnel's path.
