Drilling on Western and 5th Has Begun

The Sanitation Districts has begun drilling on Western Avenue across from the 5th Street cul-de- sac, requiring one southbound traffic lane closure. A 4-inch bore hole is being drilled to a depth of 370 feet, so we can investigate conditions in our underground tunnel using a camera. There are no safety issues or concerns for this area while this work takes place.

Commuters and local residents can expect the one-lane closure on the southbound side of Western Avenue at this location during working hours. Expect traffic delays along Western Avenue and Weymouth Avenue at this time. Please use caution when driving through this area.
